13 kidnapped victims rescued by police in Enugu

The police have rescued 13 kidnapped victims as the kidnappers were driving them to an unknown destination.


The police operatives of operation puff adder spotted the kidnapping gang with the victims at the Enugu to Makurdi highway, as they drove a Toyata Hiace Bus in the early hours of saturday. The kidnappers now diverted into the Akomagbo Ugbaike in igbo eze north council area of Enugu.


The Commands public relation officer ASP Daniel Ndukwe said, the gang were later trailed and located at their hideout  in the house of one Chidi Ogbona Aka “Egbe” in the said Akomagbo Ugbaike community where the victims were held hostage.


Ndukwe said on seeing the puff adder the offenders bailed as the operatives captured a female gang Onyeka Gloria and recovered the 13 abducted victims in the process. They also recovered one locally made pistol , a Toyota hiace bus and two motor cycles.


Shortly after, the state police commissioner CP Abdurrahman has issued a man hunt on the runneraway members of the band.
