COVID-19: federal governement releases funds for battling COVID-19 pandemic

Muhammad Buhari, the president if the federal republic of Nigeria has taken a huge step towards the fighting and eradication of the COVID-19 virus. As he has released the sum of N10 billion to Lagos and N5 billion to Nigeria center for disease control for the containing and battling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nigeria now has 65 cases of which 44 of them are in Lagos.
This released of funds was disclosed by the presidential spokesman on thurday, Garba Shehu. He said ” with regard to the request by the government of Lagos State for financial support to combat and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Lagos and Nigeria, the President has already approved the sum of N10 billion which release was effected within two days of the request.
“The President has also approved and ensured the prompt release of N5 billion special intervention requested by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to equip and expand their facilities and laboratories.”
According to the statment issued, the president has urged Nigerians to abid by the letter and guidelines issued by the federal ministry of health so as to avoid and contain the posible spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
