Gas explosion: 276,000 Nigerians displace in Lagos

Following the gas inferno that engulfed Abule Ado and Soba areas of the state. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, disclosed that 276,000 have been displaced by this unfortunate event. He did so to newsmen while accessing the scene of the incident.
One Damilola Oke, who was shocked by the level of the destruction , revealed the impact assessment of the situation will enable the governement to provide for the people.
“Five schools, three churches, one hotel and a shopping complex were destroyed, the assessments of the structures were determined by the Lagos State Material Testing Department,’’ he said.
He disclosed that, the governor had instructed that the displaced people be taken to the Igando Camp for resettlement all the agencies had made vehicles available to convey survivors to the camp. (NAN)
