Lagos house of assembly sacks officers

The house of assembly of lagos state has sacked  two of their principal officers over the exhibition of action seen to be capable of destabilizing the house. As the actions were seen to be exhibition of gross misconduct and insurbodinate.


The officers affected are, deputy majority leader of the house Hon. Olumuyiwa jimoh and Chief whip Hon. Rotimi Abiru . Other memebers that were suspended include Hon. Moshood Osun representing lagos main land Constituency 2 and Hon. Azeem Raheem Adewale representing ibeju lekki Constituency 2. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, after announcing this decision by the house Stated that the house is the heart beat and hope of people of democracy that it should be properly guarded. I hereby invoke Section 68 and Section 70 4 (a, b) 2 and 3 of the House rules in respect of gross misconduct, insubordination and action that can destablize this House. I hereby move that Hon. Moshood Oshun and Hon. Raheem Adewale be placed on suspension indefinitely,” the Speaker said.


It was reported that the removal notice of the principal officers and change in leadership where included in a latter read by the clerk Mr Azeez Sanni in the house. In which he disclosed that the letter was signed by 26 members of the house , notifying the change of leadership of the house. This event happened Amidst rumours that there were critical issues that could devide the house.
