US offers 2.5bn for information on Boko Haram Leader, Shekau

The United states Department of state is offering a reward of $7m(2.5bn) on information that will lead to the arrest of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.

 

The reward for justice program which is the counterterrorism reward program of the US department of state Diplomatic Security Service, said this in a tweet on its varified twitter handle.

 

The tweet reads, “The United States Department of State offers a reward up to $7m for information leading to the arrest of the terrorist, Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram.

 

Since the killing of its first leader, Muhammad Yusuf, Shekau has been the leader of Boko Haram and he claimed reponsibility of many attacks on Police and government’s Buildings.
