Oyo state has rejected 1800 bags of rice four days after it was delivered to them, saying they were bad for human consumption. The federal government ordered the Nigerian customs service to deliver 1,800 bags of rice to oyo, osun, Ekiti states, and 800 bags to ondo state as part of the efforts by FG to lessen the effects of the COVID-19 virus on these states. The comptroller of Customs, Oyo/Osun command, Helen Ngozi, handed this deliveries over to them on monday in which oyo state rejected its share. Debo Akande, executive adviser on agribusiness to the Oyo governor, Seyi Makinde, said the government had rejected its own share of rice. He said the decision was reached after the share of rice was inspected by the state’s food security committee of the COVID-19 task force.

According to reports Odiase "Phillip Lowell", an internet fraudster popularly know as yahoo yahoo boys, has been punished. He was prosecuted by abuja office of the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC). In which he was convicted and sentenced by Justice C.N. Oji of the FCT High court in Abuja. Odiase with Alias name Philip Lowell, who pleaded guilty was first brought to court on october 15, 2019 on a one count charge bordering on computer related fraud and obtaining money by false pretence. Following his plea of guilty, he was sentenced to one month in prison with an option of a fine of N150,000. The court Also asked him to forfeit all preceeds of the crime to federal government. He was arrested along side other fraudsters by the anti- graft agency on 26 september 2019.
